Eco-Science and Technology Park

Luoyang Huayang Conference Center Co., Ltd. (also called Luoyang Huayang Ecological Science and Technology Park) is located in Shuanma Village, Shijing Township, Xin'an County, Henan Province, covering an area of approximately 1,000 mu. Construction began in 2003 as part of the Ministry of Transport's efforts to alleviate poverty in Luoyang while responding to the CPC Central Committee's call to "Green the Mother River and Recreate the Beautiful Mountains and Rivers of the Motherland." This key project for protecting the "Mother River" in Xin'an County, Luoyang, is also the greening base for the Water Transport Science Research Institute of the Ministry of Transport.

The Luoyang Huayang Greening Base is fully funded and constructed by Huayang Maritime Center Co., Ltd., with significant support and assistance from the local government and various departments. In March 2015, the local government designated it as a Patriotic Education Base for protecting the "Mother River." In August 2016, it was awarded the National Greening Advanced Collective by the National Greening Commission, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, and the State Forestry Administration. In August 2018, it was recognized as a Patriotic Education Demonstration Base in Luoyang, and in December 2021, it was named a Soil and Water Conservation Science and Technology Demonstration Park in Henan Province. In June 2023, it was awarded the Ecological Environment Publicity and Education Base in Henan Province.

Twenty years ago, Huayang Ecological Park was an unremarkable barren mountain, with 80-90% of the area lacking soil and hardly any trees on the mountain. The thin soil layer where soil existed was considered unweathered parent material by geologists, indicating extremely harsh geological conditions. Since 2003, the ecological park has planted over 150 species and more than 400,000 seedlings, sowing over 20 tons of seeds for afforestation, with an average survival rate of over 90%. It has established a system combining ecological trees such as oil pine, cedar, ginkgo, and sweet osmanthus with economic trees such as apricot plum, apricot, peach, nectarine, and persimmon, transforming a barren mountain into an idyllic paradise that remains green and blossoming with fruits throughout the year. For many years, Huayangers have remained true to their original aspiration and worked hard, embodying the scientific assertion that "The green mountains and clear waters are indeed the true treasures!"
