In his presentation, Mr. Yang analyzed the ripple effects of US-Iran tensions on maritime safety, global shipping routes, marine insurance, supply chains and people’s livelihood. He sorted out legal disputes over transit rights and coastal state jurisdiction under the UNCLOS, unpacked cost-price transmission mechanisms, and predicted long-term shifts in the shipping industry. He noted the conflict has broken the traditional balance among shipping safety, operational efficiency and cost, turning geopolitical risks into a core factor shaping global shipping. He put forward targeted suggestions covering strategy, operation and financing, advocated boosting domestic shipbuilding, vessel management, cargo shipping and state-owned capital control in the sector, and called for improved protection of seafarers’ physical and mental wellbeing.

Huayang’s attendance is a recognition of its standing in shipping finance and testament to its sound market-oriented and international development.
